Corona Virus Updates<\/h2>\n

The safety and care of our clients and employees is very important to us at Ability Support and Care, and we are committed to working with you and your loved ones to safeguard against any health risks. We are following the advises of Federal and State Health Authorities in regard to this situation on regular bases. We will ensure that our carers practice good hand hygiene, wear masks and keep the 1.5m physical distance as much as possible.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Infection Control<\/h2>\n

Our carers and nurses are fully trained in infection control and preventative procedures, including good hand hygiene.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

All our staff will be screening each client prior to visiting and if a client or someone of their household is unwell, we\u2019ll work with our clients to reschedule.<\/p>\n

Use of Masks in The Community, Disability and Aged Care Settings<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

Our staff have been provided with masks and we will continue to do so, until otherwise advised by the Department of Health.<\/p>\n

How does a face mask stop the spread of infection?<\/strong><\/p>\n

A face mask acts as a simple barrier to help prevent droplets from travelling into the air, onto surfaces or onto other people when an infected person coughs, sneezes or talks. COVID-19 can still be spread from an infected person who is asymptomatic. This is why we are now enforcing everyone to wear one; protecting others from yourself.<\/p>\n

How to put on a medical face mask?<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

    \n
  • Wash your hands with alcohol-based hand sanitizer or soap and water.<\/li>\n
  • Inspect the mask for tears, holes or damage. Do not wear a mask that has already been worn.<\/li>\n
  • Identify the top of the mask, where there is usually a metal nose band.<\/li>\n
  • Identify the inside of the mask, which is usually white.<\/li>\n
  • Place the mask on your face covering your nose, mouth and chin.<\/li>\n
  • Make sure there are no gaps between your face and the mask.<\/li>\n
  • Pinch the metal nose band so that it molds to the shape of your nose.<\/li>\n
  • Do not touch the front of the mask.<\/li>\n
  • If you accidentally touch the front of your mask, wash your hands.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    How to remove a face mask?<\/h3>\n

     <\/p>\n

      \n
    • Wash your hands with alcohol-based hand sanitizer or soap and water.<\/li>\n
    • Remove the mask from behind your ears or the back of your head.<\/li>\n
    • Do not touch the front of the mask. If you do accidentally, clean your hands.<\/li>\n
    • Lean forward and pull the mask from your face.<\/li>\n
    • Medical masks are made for single use only. Put the used mask in the bin.<\/li>\n
    • Medical face masks should be thrown out if they become wet, soiled or damaged.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

      • If you are wearing a cloth mask you should wash your mask in hot water every day, but if your mask is clean and remains dry, you can store it in a clean, resealable plastic bag.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
